Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a neurological disorder that affects your central nervous system (CNS). Your CNS consists of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. It controls your thoughts, speech, and actions, such as blinking, breathing, walking and other movements.
MS Symptoms
Typical symptoms of MS include:
- Tiredness (fatigue)
- Spasms and muscle stiffness
- Feeling numb or tingling in places
- Issues with bladder or bowel control
- Coordination and balance problems, such as vertigo
- Blurry or double vision and other visual disturbances
- Cognitive difficulties, such as trouble learning, planning, or thinking
- Sexual distress, such as struggling to orgasm, reduced interest in sex, and erectile dysfunction in men
Some people also experience mood problems, such as depression and anxiety.
