Myasthenia gravis is a rare autoimmune disorder that causes communication issues between your nerves and muscles. It affects your voluntary muscles that control your facial expressions, eyes, eyelids, mouth, throat, and limbs.
Symptoms
This condition causes muscle weakness and fatigue, commonly in the upper arms and legs.
You may also experience:
- Droopy eyelids
- Double vision (diplopia)
- Difficulty swallowing or chewing
- Slurred speech
Some people have problems breathing, which can be life-threatening (myasthenic crisis).
