Confusion

Confusion means you can’t think clearly. Your thoughts may feel as if they are hard to order or grasp fully. Common causes include sickness, side effects of a medication, or a condition affecting your brain (neurological disorder). During our consultation, we’ll discuss your concerns and how to treat your issue. We may recommend changing your prescription to another medication if that is the cause.
Impaired mental ability

Impaired mental ability means your brain doesn’t work as well as it used to. This happens to many people as they age, though a hit to your head and some illnesses can also cause this. Certain medications or brain-training tasks may help you improve your mental ability.
Memory difficulty

There are many factors that can affect your memory, from older age to some mental health problems, such as chronic stress or depression. You may struggle to recall memories or other information. Some conditions related to older age can cause memory issues, such as Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. Treatment may involve medication, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), or lifestyle changes, depending on the cause.
Behavioural difficulties

If you have behavioural difficulties, you may act out in a way that’s not normal for you; for example, a burst of anger or suddenly feeling sad without an obvious cause. This could be because of problems with your brain or things happening in your life that are out of your control. Some people benefit from talking to others or attending therapy to explore their problems. However, you may need medication if a neurological or mood disorder is causing your symptoms. Other treatments include psychotherapy and behaviour modification techniques.
