Pain Management
Pain is a normal reaction after an injury and a symptom of many medical conditions. We call this acute pain. If your pain lasts more than 12 weeks or longer than the expected recovery time, we call it chronic.
Causes and Treatment
Some conditions that cause chronic pain include fibromyalgia, nerve damage, migraine, back problems, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Continue to move often and exercise when you can to prevent your pain from worsening. Common treatments for pain include lifestyle changes, medication, and tailored exercises or therapies, such as massage therapy.
If your pain is caused by problems with your brain, spinal cord, or nerves, you may need to see a neurologist, a specialist in these conditions. We will perform a series of tests to identify the cause of your pain and form a personalised treatment plan.
